The NMRG offers two different types of grants:
High Priority: $5,000 and applicant must collaborate with a New Mexico state agency, non-profit, community-based organization that directly benefits New Mexicans. Cannot collaborate with UNM or its branches.
General Priority: $3,000 for general research that does not require collaboration with another entity.
The NMRG grant has only one funding cycle, each fall. The deadline is the fifth Friday of the fall semesters. Applicants may fund activity in the from July 1 to June 30.
Application materials include
- A 1100 word proposal for High Priority; 700 word proposal for General Priority
- A line item budget
- A letter of recommendation from a faculty member without the applicant's name (for both grants)
- A letter of recommendation from a collaborating agency representative (for HIGH PRIORITY ONLY)
